Iris Fraud?
Our best-selling leggings have been outed! (And right now you can buy them - both ankle-length and capri - at a 20% discount.)
What's really going on here? Our designers, with permission, created our Irises leggings with van Gogh's iconic painting from the Getty Museum’s permanent collection. Fine.
But Getty conservators have been traveling back in time, and things have changed. Anyone can see that the irises are blue - yet 135 years ago in the garden at St. Remy, van Gogh likely used purple paint on his brush. The culprit may be the fading red pigment known as Geranium Lake.
See more details in Hyperallergic's latest issue. It’s a fun read and an opportunity to appreciate the genius of van Gogh. To celebrate that genius - and in the holiday spirit - we are indeed offering our Irises leggings at 20% off, with our usual free shipping. In the shop only, through December 10.
